Last Shreds of Autumn
There were a few yellow leaves left yesterday at Bandelier National Monument, but not many. I wish I’d come a week or so earlier, but that’s the way it goes. Even the few hints of fall were plenty beautiful against Frijoles Canyon’s striated volcanic ash walls.
Autumn is on its way out. The peaks of the Sangres have snow, and more is on the way. We photographers will have to look to geology rather than to botany for our colors for the next few months.
